Skin Rashes
Skin rashes are very common in infants especially during the first few months. Many infants will have dry, peeling skin during this time. This is best treated with a simple lotion such as Keri Lotion, Aveeno, or Eucerin and by avoiding soap.
Heat rash is an extremely irritating, very red, prickly type of rash caused by plugging of the sweat pores and retention of sweat. It may be spread over the entire back and chest, but usually is more concentrated in the neck area. Treatment consists of dressing the child less warmly, bathing with tepid or cool water with a wash cloth (without soap) and occasionally a light application of powder especially in the neck area after bathing.
